New Thinlits

If you haven't seen the latest and greatest from Stampin'Up!, you are missing out.  Thinlits.  Gotta have it!  I actually won my circle Thinlits from prize patrol at convention.  They were so new that we had to wait an extra day for them to be delivered to SU.  We were sworn to secrecy until they were released.  But now they are available for purchase as of August 1st.

This was a card I made to send to a missionary from church.  His favorite past time was hunting racoons so I had to use Under The Stars stamp set even though it is retired.

I love how quick this card was to make.   I used the Thinlits Circle Card #133480 (card, chevron arrows, crumb cake scallop circle), Very Vanilla cardstock #101650, Crumb Cake cardstock #120953, Old Olive cardstock #100702, Black Stazon ink #101406, Season of Style Designer Washi Tapae #132155.

A little My Digital Studio

I wanted to share a couple of MDS layouts I created.  The first one was thanks to Cori Kozak who I CASED.  The 2nd was my own design for a chalkboard challenge on a MDS group with Kimberly Van Diepen and Heather Summers.  I liked how it turned out.

Don't you love how fast an MDS layout comes together?  Once I have an idea (the hard part), the layout goes together in minutes and if I don't love it, i just hit delete and start over, no wasted paper or glue!  There is a whole website for MDS www.mydigitalstudio.net where you can find weekly downloads to add to your collection and samples of layouts to get ideas from or CASE (like my first sample).

If you haven't purchased MDS yet, you SHOULD!  It is the best $19.95 you will ever spend!  If you still like the embellishments to pop off the page more than they do, just make it a hybrid after it's printed and add some extra bling.  You can get MDS on my website HERE.

Not a card

Here are a couple of onesies that I created for a friend who was having a baby girl.  Since I don't have a girl of my own I thought this was fun to make girly things.  I used the Big Shot #113439 along with Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die #114507 and Blossom Party Originals die #115971.  I bought the onesies and fabric adhesive at Walmart.  I ran the fabric adhesive sheets through the Big Shot as well to get it the same shape as the butterflies and flowers.  Good project to use up some of the fabric I had and I thought they turned out darling.

Color Me Happy Swap

Like I told you yesterday, I signed up for 4 organized swaps at convention.  This one was part of the Color Me Happy swap.  We picked a color and made 48 cards.  Yes, 48!  That is simply a lot of cards!  I chose the color Pool Party.  I was glad I did it though because after we swapped I had a card from every color SU has to offer.

Supplies:  Pool party cs #122924 and ink126982,  Pink Pirouette cs #111351 and ink 126956, white cs #100730, Silver glimmer paper #124005, Pearl Basic jewels #119247, Best of Love set #132987, Modern Mosaic embossing folder #129984, Mosaic madness stamp set #130249 (clear) or #130246 (wood).

After I ran the paper through the Big Shot with the Mosaic folder I used the pool party ink pad and just taped it over the embossed portions all over to highlight the embossed portion, but it doesn't show up really well on the picture.

Remember there is only 6 days left to order 3 designer series paper packs to get 1 free.  Click my link to the right to shop at my website.

Feeling excited

So this last week I was able to attend Stampin'Up! convention in Salt Lake City.  I attended the 20th anniversary celebration and then the next year, so I knew that they just keep getting better and that the 25th would be one I didn't want to miss.  After a little prodding and maybe some gentle nagging, my sister was finally able to talk her hubby into letting her come with me.  I could have been okay going alone, but so glad she got to go with me.  We've been wanting a sisters trip for a while and we finally got one.

Let's just say it was a blast!  Stampin'Up! and specifically Shelli just make me want to be better and do better, not just in regards to stamping either.

Ok, so those not familiar with SU events, we participate in what we call "swaps".  It isn't required, but is a lot of fun.  We make a specific amount of 1 design of card and then get together with that many people and exchange cards.  I participated in 4 organized swaps and did some general swaps as well. This first card was part of the MDS hybrid card swap.  Remember, MDS images do not retire, thus All in the Family image was okay to use.  I simply created the happy couple using MDS, printed it at home in black and white on Whisper White cardstock and then assembled my card.  It was fun to create and I love how it turned out.  Thanks to my club member Leslie for the idea which came from her daughter-in-law.  I just switched it up a bit.

Supplies:  My Digital Studio, Basic black cardstock #121045, Whisper White cardstock #100730, Bermuda Bay cardstock #131197, Delicate designs embossing folder #127023, 5/8" Whisper White organza ribbon #114319, Rhinestone basic jewels #119246 and Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details glitter #127845.

This next card was a swap for the "Best of 25" meaning we used the stamps from the Best of 25 series.  I chose Best of Birthdays.  Simple, but cute.

Supplies:  Whisper White cardstock #100730, Pool Party cardstock #122924 and marker and seam binding #125582, Daffodil delight cardstock #119683, ink #126944 and marker, Basic Gray cardstock #121044 and marker, Simply Scored Scoring tool #126192, Best of Birthdays stamp set #132929.

Will share the others later.

This was one of my stamp club projects.  I was really happy with the outcome.  Even better, I had a little time and actually came up with it myself.  We did the faux mother of pearl technique.  For the background I inked the embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink and some Early Espresso and ran it through the Big Shot machine.  I love the worn look it gives.

Supplies:  Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery cardstock.  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Certainly Celery and Cherry Cobbler ink.  Antique brads, mini vintage tags, Hemp twine, 2 step bird punch, Finial press embossing folder, Fun flowers Bigz L die, frost shimmer paint, sponges
